As recently confirmed in the official press release of the University of Parma, the Human Nutrition Unit was successfully granted with the Project “PREVENTOMICS – Empowering consumers to PREVENT diet-related diseases through OMICS sciences” in the frame of the European Call “Sustainable Food Security” H2020. The University of Parma was the only Italian partner present in the consortium, represented by Prof. Daniele Del Rio.

The main outcome from PREVENTOMICS is a novel mobile platform, a unique-in-its-kind service, interoperable with current existing Apps for monitoring health status and with personalized nutrition software, thus opening the door to the personalization of any type of health treatment where combinations of genetic, biological, nutritional and psychological factors are important.

University of Parma is one of the 19 partners of the PREVENTOMICS project, which includes several other European Universities, private fundations and industries. More details can be found here and on the official Twitter account of PREVENTOMICS.

The news of the PREVENTOMICS launch immediately attracted national and international press agencies and newspapers. In Italy, the recent interview by the most important Italian National Press Agency – ANSA – to Prof. Daniele Del Rio had a quick and outstanding rebound, enhancing the share of the news and details of the PREVENTOMICS project.
