Laura Mele is a Ph.D. student in Food Science at the University of Parma (Italy), Department of Food Science. She is interested in the bioactivity of phenolic compounds and their human and microbial metabolites in cardiovascular murine as well as in human in vitro models of atherosclerosis.
Laura Mele (03/10/1989) has a Master degree in Medical, Pharmaceutical and Veterinary Biotechnology, granted by the University of Parma (December 2013). In 2013 she spent 5 months in Groningen (The Netherlands), working as “Erasmus Placement” student at the University of Groningen (Liver, Digestive and Metabolic Diseases Department). In January 2014 she started the Ph.D. in Food Science at University of Parma.
