Department of Food and Drug

LS9 is operative within the Food and Drug Department of the University of Parma, which gathers an interdisciplinary pool of experts in food and pharmaceutical technology, microbiology, food chemistry, pharmacology, nutrition, organic chemistry, agronomy and economy, with a true “from the lab to the world” approach. The Department offers comprehensive programs in Food Science and Technology, in Gastronomical Science, in Pharmaceutical Technology and Chemistry, and in Pharmacy, preparing students for leadership positions in the food and pharmaceutical industry. The activities of the Department encompass transfer research-based information and technology to consumers, food, beverage, pharmaceutical and food supplement companies and governmental agencies, with the goal of enhancing the availability, quality, and safety of our supply of food and of evidence based drugs.
